TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run accident from last week.

The Tucson Police Department said 27-year-old Christopher Pete Leon was arrested Monday, May 18, on a charge of leaving the scene of a fatal accident. He was being held on a $500,000 bond.
The TPD said Leon hit and killed 56-year-old Luis Eduardo Garcia near South 12th Avenue and Ajo on May 11.
The TPD said Garcia was trying to cross South 12th Avenue when he was hit by a speeding Leon, who then drove away.

Garcia was not in a crosswalk and died at the scene.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or may have any additional information is urged to contact 911 or call 88-CRIME.
