YUMA, AZ (AZFamily) — Months after a 15-year-old missing girl was found dead in Yuma, a man is facing accusations that he murdered and sexually abused her, the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.

Investigators have identified the suspect as Mark Spadt, 52. With the help of the U.S. Marshal’s Office, he was taken into custody just before 10 a.m. at a home on Avenue 12 E, south of Interstate 8.
The investigation started when the girl, whom family members have identified as Diana Lucia Valle Walle, went missing from San Luis and her body was discovered near Stetson Street and Mesa Avenue on June 1.
Her family was notified two days later, officials said.
Deputies initially called it a suspicious death, and they then said they gathered enough evidence to arrest Spadt. The sheriff’s office did not say how the girl died.
He was booked into jail on one count of first-degree murder, two counts of sexual conduct with a minor, one count of custodial interference and one count of evidence tampering.
