PEORIA, AZ (AZFamily) — Three people are in critical condition after a violent collision south of Lake Pleasant Friday morning.

The crash happened just before 10 a.m. on State Route 74 at milepost 23 near New River Road, according to the Peoria Fire Department.
Firefighters say three people suffered serious injuries, including one person who was rushed to a hospital in extremely critical condition. A fourth person had minor injuries and declined to go to the hospital.
The highway is closed in both directions while Peoria police detectives investigate what led to the crash. Drivers should avoid the area and use alternate routes.
Video from the scene shows the collision involved a work truck, a pickup truck and a sedan. Two of the vehicles had severe front-end damage.
