Lauro Pena Vazquez was arrested overnight after police say he aimed a green laser toward a Phoenix Air Unit that was flying near 29th Street and Virginia Avenue around 11 p.m. Thursday.

Officers in the helicopter watched the man who aimed the laser go into a home in the area, and police officers responded to that home. When police contacted a man and woman who owned the home, they were told the couple’s adult son was also inside.

Phoenix PD found the son, later identified as Vazquez, and detained him. After getting a search warrant, officers found a green laser in Vasquez’s bedroom.
