EL MIRAGE, AZ (AZFamily) — Four people are in the hospital after a crash involving a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office patrol truck shut down a major road overnight near El Mirage.

The crash happened Thursday night near Grand Avenue and Santa Fe Lane just before 10:30 p.m., officials with MCSO said.
AZFamily crews at the scene saw a sheriff’s deputy’s truck with front-end damage and another vehicle with heavy rear damage.
The deputy and three people in the other vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital, but all are expected to be OK.

Grand Avenue was shut down for several hours into early Friday morning. All lanes have since reopened.
