PHOENIX (AZFamily) —A woman who was reported missing Thursday was later found dead in west Phoenix, police said.

Officers were called to a home in south Phoenix near 16th Street and Roeser Road around 3:30 p.m. for reports that a 60-year-old woman was missing. A worried family member called, saying the woman had not returned home.
Officers learned the woman had existing health issues and was taking medication.
While investigating, officers learned the woman had been seen near 27th Avenue and Durango Street. While searching the area, another call came in about an unresponsive woman behind an electrical box.
Officers responded, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The description of the missing woman matched that of the body, police said.

There were no signs of trauma, police said, and the medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
