3 more people arraigned in reflecting pool vandalism

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Three people were arraigned on misdemeanor charges in separate cases connected to damage at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Cameron Thiers, Sophie Dennison-Gibby and Justin Carreno were detained last month after officers said they saw them removing pieces of blue paint from the landmark. All three pleaded not guilty Wednesday to misdemeanor charges of destruction of property.

All of the incidents were captured on body cameras worn by officers, according to court documents. One officer said Thiers “admitted to removing a piece of blue sealant from the reflecting pool and still had it in his hand when I made contact with him.”

A judge has ordered all three to stay away from the reflecting pool. If convicted, each could face fines of up to $1,000 and a maximum of 180 days in jail.
