Nothing suspicious found after bomb threat at NAU auditorium in Flagstaff

FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AZFamily) — A building on Northern Arizona University’s campus in Flagstaff was declared safe hours after a bomb threat early Thursday afternoon.

Shortly after 1 p.m., NAU issued a campus alert on social media regarding a threat reported in the area of Ardrey Auditorium on Knoles Drive. The alert advised that anyone in the area should evacuate immediately.

In a follow-up post around 2:45 p.m., NAU said there did not appear to be an imminent threat, but the building was still closed while NAU police investigated.

The university posted a final message shortly after 4 p.m., saying officers had completed a thorough sweep of the auditorium and found no hazardous devices or materials.

The area has been declared safe, and all campus activities can resume.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience and prompt response during the incident,” NAU said in a social media post.

No other details were released about the threat.

Per the university’s calendar, the summer session began on Monday.
