Court documents state that Michael Bloodworth, 21, was extradited from Harris County Jail in Houston, Texas, to Maricopa County on Tuesday. Bloodworth and another suspect, Aidan Zepeda, 23, were initially arrested for the March death of Jacob Jaime, Jr., 22.
The shooting happened in the early morning hours of March 28 near 4th Street and Mill Avenue. Gunfire rang out near several bars and other businesses that had just closed.
Jaime was struck by the gunfire and rushed to the hospital, where he later died. Another man was also hurt, but his injuries weren’t serious.
Zepeda was arrested two days after the shooting, and Bloodworth was taken into custody two weeks later.
Police have not said what may have led up to the shooting, or if the suspects and Jaime knew each other. Authorities say it remains an active investigation.
