Investigators believe the vehicle that hit and killed Robert Hetrick at the Mesa Grand Shopping Center in May is either a gray or silver Ford F-150.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or the incident was urged to contact the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211.

“Even the smallest detail could help bring answers and accountability to Robert’s family,” police said in a statement.

Police are unsure whether the truck was damaged from the incident.

Around 11 p.m. on May 23, Hetrick was skateboarding when he was hit and killed by a vehicle in the parking lot of the shopping center near U.S. 60 and Stapley Drive.

Hetrick’s family started a GoFundMe fundraiser to raise money for a memorial service, saying that the costs are more than they can afford.

“Losing Robert so unexpectedly has been incredibly difficult for all of us,” they wrote.

They remember Hetrick as a “loving and caring person who brought joy to everyone around him” and who “always found ways to make us laugh.”

”Robert was the kind of person who would go out of his way to help others, and his kindness touched so many lives,” they wrote.
