19-year-old found dead after not returning from a boat party with friends, authorities say

CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT/Gray News) – A 19-year-old in Kentucky was found dead after going missing five days ago, according to authorities.

Multiple agencies discovered Marly Kinney’s body in Grayson Lake around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday.

Officials led a five-day search after Kinney did not return with friends on a rented pontoon boat from Grayson Lake Marina on June 24.

An arrest citation reports 23-year-old Cameron Conley was arrested for operating a boat while intoxicated in connection to the disappearance of a female passenger on the boat he was driving, People reported.

He reportedly told Kentucky State Police troopers that he was unable to find the woman. Conley was arrested Wednesday evening, the same day Kinney disappeared.

The citation states that while troopers were speaking with Conley, they smelled the odor of alcohol and noted he had bloodshot glassy eyes.

Kentucky State Police questioned Conley if he had any alcoholic beverages while operating the boat and Conley advised he had. Conley’s PBT breath result was .137.

Kinney’s cause of death has not been determined.
