PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A woman was rescued after being found in a Phoenix canal Sunday.

First responders with the Phoenix Fire Department were called to a canal near 16th Street and Indian School Road for a water rescue.
Crews found the woman floating face up in the canal when they got to the scene. Several rope bags were thrown, but the woman would not grab them, Phoenix fire officials said.
Officials got into the water and carried her out of the canal, fire officials said.

She was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
