On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina will close all of its company-owned locations by the end of the day Friday, according to a company spokesperson for OTB Hospitality.
“This decision follows a thorough evaluation of the business and was not made lightly,” the spokesperson wrote in a statement. “We are currently evaluating the future of the On The Border brand and exploring a range of strategic options.”

Franchises in California, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota and South Korea will remain open and operate independently.
The company filed for bankruptcy in 2025 and was then bought by the Texas-based company Pappas Restaurants.
