Body of missing ASU student found at Grand Canyon

GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, AZ (AZFamily) — An Arizona State University student who went missing at the Grand Canyon last month has been found dead.

Sandarsh Krishna’s body was recovered Saturday near the Verkamp’s Visitor Center on the South Rim, authorities said.

Krishna’s family said he had told friends he planned to travel to Las Vegas before returning to the Valley for finals at ASU.

A day after he was supposed to leave the canyon, a park visitor turned in his backpack to lost and found.

Krishna’s death is under investigation by the National Park Service and the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office.
