Hiker in extremely critical condition after 40-foot fall at South Mountain

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A hiker is fighting for his life after falling at a South Mountain trail on Friday afternoon.

Technical rescue crews received reports of an injured hiker at South Mountain’s Mormon Trail shortly before 1 p.m. A spokesperson with Phoenix Fire told Arizona’s Family that the man fell 40 feet and is in extremely critical condition.

Crews are working to get the man off the trail.
