Investigators said Kang Dixon, 83, was walking west in the right lane of McDowell Road, east of 39th Avenue, when a tan Isuzu SUV heading west hit her just before 10 p.m.

The impact forced Dixon into the middle lane, where a driver in a white 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee, also heading west, struck her.

Dixon was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

Both drivers kept going west on McDowell Road.

Witnesses described the license plate for the Cherokee, but no arrests have been made, police said.
