TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing at a home near Sierra Vista on Tuesday, May 26.

The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office said 30-year-old Brett Cunningham was taken into custody on Wednesday, and the victim was in stable condition at a Tucson hospital.
The CCSO said the Sierra Vista Police Department helped in Cunningham’s arrest.
Cunningham is accused of stabbing a 49-year-old man in the 4400 block of East Camino Principal, which is near SR 92 and East Ramsey Road, around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday.

The Sierra Vista area has seen a rash of violent crimes over the last few weeks.
- On April 13, six people were arrested following a drive-by shooting near 3rd Street and Canyon Drive.
- On May 14, a Sierra Vista man was arrested on an attempted murder charge following an incident at a home in the 500 block of Carmichael.
- On May 19, two people were arrested after a shelter-in-place incident in the Sierra Vista-Hereford area.
- On May 20, a woman and a dog were killed, and a man was injured in a shooting near East Wilcox Drive and South 7th Street.
- On May 24, one person was injured, and a teen is wanted following a shooting in the 2300 block of Cherry Hills Drive.
