LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ (AZFamily) — Two women suffered serious burns after a boat exploded on Lake Havasu Friday.

Deputies responded to the explosion near the launch ramp at the Nautical Beachfront Resort, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
The blast was witnessed by deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Marine Enforcement Unit, who were nearby and quickly moved in to help the three people on board.
By the time Mohave County deputies arrived, the 28-foot Commander boat was fully engulfed in flames near Nautical Houseboat Rentals. Crews used patrol boats to steer the burning vessel clear of nearby boats and houseboats while battling the fire.

Two of the three people on board, a 26-year-old woman and a 55-year-old woman, both from Ontario, California, suffered serious burns. They were rushed to a local hospital by ambulance, then flown to another facility for treatment.
The condition of the third person on board is unknown.
