LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A witness list has been released ahead of the murder trial of Duane “Keffe D” Davis, the man charged in connection with the 1996 killing of rapper Tupac Shakur.

The trial is expected to begin Aug. 10.
Shakur was shot at a stoplight near Flamingo Road and Koval Lane in Las Vegas on Sept. 7, 1996.
He died six days later.

Davis is the only person arrested in connection with the case. He is accused of orchestrating the murder. Davis was arrested in September 2023 at his home in Henderson, Nev.
Among those expected to take the stand is Marion “Suge” Knight, who was in the car with Shakur at the time of the shooting.
Knight is the only other surviving witness to the murder.

Knight’s expected testimony
Knight is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence at a California facility for a deadly hit-and-run crash in 2015.
In a 2023 interview with TMZ, Knight said he would not testify.
“1000% I wouldn’t go,” Knight said. “I wouldn’t testify, none of that.”
Remote testimony motions
Court records show several motions have been filed for witnesses to testify remotely.
Among them is a lead homicide detective who investigated the case and now lives out of state.
Other witnesses include members of Shakur’s family and Yusuf Jah, who co-authored a book with Davis called “Compton Street Legend.”
