TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The football rivalry between Bisbee and Douglas High has led to several incidents over the years, but nothing like this week.

Bisbee and Douglas are set to face off at the end of the week, but that could change depending on what happens with several investigations.
On Wednesday, Sept. 2, officials found out that the Douglas High football stadium had been vandalized.
According to CoolFMLive, someone spray-painted messages, some of which were obscene, on the field, statue, and walls at the stadium. You can see photos below.
Bisbee High said the Douglas Police Department is investigating the incident, “including whether individuals associated with BHS may have been involved.”
The school said it canceled the bonfire scheduled for Wednesday night and may cancel other events, including the game itself.
“We want to be clear that this type of behavior does not reflect the values of Bisbee High School or our school community,” the school said in a Facebook post. “We expect our students and all those who represent our schools to conduct themselves respectfully, responsibly, and with good sportsmanship, both at school-sponsored events and throughout our community.”
Also on Wednesday, the Bisbee Police Department responded to reports of a suspicious message written in a school bathroom as well as a hoax report about an active shooting incident on campus.

The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office said the message said: “that an event may occur (at the school) on Wednesday.”
The threat was not credible, but the CCSO and BPD had personnel at the school to provide an “increased level of safety and security for students, faculty, and staff.”
Wednesday afternoon, someone called the United States Border Patrol’s Brian A. Terry Station and indicated there may have been an active shooter situation at Bisbee High.
Agents responded, but quickly determined there was no threat.
“At this time, there is no indication of an active shooter or other dangerous criminal activity occurring at Bisbee High, nor is there information indicating that a dangerous event was planned for September 2 or any future date,” the CCSO said in a release. “The investigation into the origin and circumstances surrounding the suspicious message remains ongoing.”
