TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The U.S. government has resumed regular travel to Nogales, Mexico.

The announcement came Friday, Sept. 11, just days after it issued a security alert and restricted government travel to Nogales, Mexico, “due to threat information.”
Travel had been restricted to essential movement during daylight only.
Information about the threat was never given, but officials reminded citizens that Sonora is currently a Level 3 “Reconsider Travel” area.
U.S. citizens can receive alerts from the Embassy via WhatsApp and can sign up here.

Travellers are still advised to:
- Exercise increased caution and be aware of your surroundings.
- Seek shelter in the event of an incident.
- Notify friends and family of your safety in the event of an incident.
- Follow instructions from Mexican law enforcement.
- Monitor local media for updates.
