CASA GRANDE, AZ (AZFamily) — A 16-year-old boy accused of killing an 18-year-old man at a house party in Casa Grande over the weekend has been arrested, police say.

The Casa Grande Police Department announced Monday morning that the teen, whose name was not released, was booked into Pinal County’s juvenile detention facility in connection with the death of Joseph Castro, who had turned 18 just two weeks earlier.
Police said the teen faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, disorderly conduct with a firearm, minor in possession of a firearm, and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
Officers responded to a neighborhood near Trekell and Rodeo roads around 1 a.m. Sunday, after reports of multiple shots fired outside the party. Castro was shot multiple times and died at the scene, police said.
While police say the suspect fled the scene, detectives credited Flock automated license plate reader cameras with helping identify and locate the suspect’s vehicle in Casa Grande just hours after the shooting.
Officers made a high-risk traffic stop, and the 16-year-old driver was taken into custody without incident.

Police said this remains an active homicide investigation, noting detectives have gathered significant evidence indicating additional suspects were involved in the shooting.
The family set up a GoFundMe page for Castro.
