TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Pima Animal Care Center has reached critical capacity once again and needs help from the community to rehome several dogs.

“Any time the sections that house our large dogs all begin to fill up, that’s when we hit critical capacity,” Nikki Reck, Public Information Officer at PACC, said. “It’s not necessarily a numbers thing but a space thing.”
PACC has three dogs that need to be rehomed by Monday, Aug. 24.
PACC needs the community’s help with the overcrowding. Adopting or fostering large dogs can help decrease the shelter population.
PACC is currently running an incentive where anyone who adopts a dog 35 pounds or over will get $25 store credit. At the Eastside location, anyone who adopts a large dog will get a free dog bed.
The center is hoping to create enough space before Labor Day as holidays lead to an influx of strays.

“Pima County is a pet-loving community, and we’re always so grateful for the folks who step up to take home a large dog to help us clear kennels,” Reck said.
