TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A powerful storm rolled through southern Arizona on Monday, Sept. 13, leading to swift-water rescues, power outages, damage, and closed roads.

SWIFT-WATER RESCUES
According to the National Weather Service in Tucson, there were at least three swift-water rescues along the Alamo Wash.
13 News was there for one rescue near 22nd and Kolb. While everyone was out of the vehicle, 13 News found a car in a flooded dip in the road.
Another rescue allegedly happened near Grant and Craycroft, behind the Tucson Medical Center.
The third one allegedly happened near 5th Street and Wilmot.
The NWS Tucson also reported a swift-water rescue in the Brawley Wash near Manvill and Reservation Road near Picture Rocks.
POWER OUTAGES
UPDATE – As of 8 p.m. Monday, more that 3,000 TEP customers remain without power.

As of 7 p.m. Monday, more than 9,000 TEP customers were without power. Most of the outages were due to equipment damage, like the power pole and tree down near Prudence and Broadway.

TEP customers can check the status of their outage anytime by going to www.tep.com/outages.
ROAD CLOSURES
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said the following roads were closed as of 6:30 p.m.
- Houghton Road, north of Andrada
- Wentworth Road, north of Andrada
- Sahuarita Road, east of Sonoita
STORM DAMAGE AND FLOODING
13 News also found damage at Udall Park near Tanque Verde and Kolb.
13 News also saw flooding in the Three Points area, as the storm turned Ina Road into a flowing river.
NICE ENDING
Despite the damage and dangerous conditions, 13 News anchor Valerie Cavazos caught this amazing rainbow as she was leaving the station parking lot.
