FERNLEY, Nev. (KOLO) – The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says there is no threat after a parent reported that there was a gun on a school bus that turned out to be a pen in the shape of an AR15.

At around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, deputies with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a student who had a gun on one of the school buses headed for Fernley Intermediate School.
After investigating, police found that the student had a pen in the shape of a rifle that had been seen by another student, who told their parent, who filed a report with the LCSO.

Police say there were no guns on the bus and that there was no threat to students or staff.
