TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A man died while hiking in Catalina State Park early Monday, Sept. 21.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said 69-year-old David John Crivello collapsed while hiking Romero Trail with a friend around 6:30 a.m.
Crivello’s friend then called 911 and began CPR.
The PCSD said Crivello died at the scene, and there was nothing suspicious or criminal about his death.
There were at least two other rescues in southern Arizona on Monday.
MOUNTAIN BIKER RESCUE
Quint 17 responded to Fantasy Island Trail Park at 8:42 this morning, after a person fell from their bike near Bunny’s Revenge and Snake Dance Loop, suffering a broken leg.

The Tucson Fire Department said it rescued a mountain biker on Fantasy Island Trail Park around 8:42 a.m. The TFD said the biker broke their leg and had to be transported to a local hospital.
The TFD said that due to the rocky and remote terrain, crews used a UTV to get the biker out. quickly.

The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office said crews responded to a hiker rescue near the Reef and Sawmill trailheads at Carr Canyon.
The CCSO said the hiker may have been injured and was having anger issues, so it asked people to avoid the area.
