TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Another day of extreme heat today but the warning is set to expire at 8pm. Overnight lows have been in record territory the past few nights as we haven’t been dropping below 84-85°. That means little relief has been around at night. Temperatures are set to start cooling the next few days. However, rain chances for the coming days have started to decline resulting in temperatures rising. That means less relief from the extreme heat than we expected.

Rain and storm potential tonight seems to be the best chances we have in the 7-day. 40% chance in Tucson with 50-60% chance to the south and east. Still, daily rain and storm chances at least through Tuesday. Over those days, Tucson has much better chances in the evening hours than in the afternoons. A lull in precipitation is then possible for mid-to-late workweek. As for temperatures, we’ll stay in the triple-digits but cool to around 101-102° for Monday & Tuesday. Then back up to extreme heat territory late week and possibly weekend.
