PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Water is top of mind in Arizona — and now a major tech company is doing Something Good by investing in a new water replenishment project in the state.

Google announced a $600,000 project to remove and replace undersized culverts along a key waterway to the Salt River.
This is in partnership with Trout Unlimited and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
The investment builds on Google’s ongoing commitment to Arizona. The tech giant has already supported more than a dozen water replenishment and watershed health projects.
The project will remove and replace three undersized culverts, which are tunnels that channel water underneath roadways.
It will help restore natural streamflow and reconnect vital habitats for the Apache trout.

The work will also help cut back the sediment flowing into water treatment plants and reservoirs, while increasing overall water access.
