TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A Tucson woman is facing charges after allegedly hitting her friend with a car twice during a drunken fight.

On Sunday, Aug. 23, 23-year-old Mercedes Nunez appeared in court on charges of attempted second-degree murder and leaving the scene of an accident. As of Tuesday, Aug. 25, she was being held on a $100,000 bond.
According to court documents, the incident happened when Nunez and two of her friends were hanging out and drinking.
Nunez was a passenger in a vehicle when she allegedly started pulling one of her friend’s hair and started punching her in the head.
The vehicle pulled over, and Nunez got out and again fought with one of her friends.
The friends then drove off, leaving Nunez to walk home. Later, the friends were at a home when Nunez walked up.

They said Nunez got into her own vehicle and drove in reverse, pinning one of the friends between two vehicles. Nunez allegedly pulled forward and accelerated toward the victim, again pinning her between the cars.
The victim suffered a broken ankle and a large gash to her leg.
Nunez claimed the victim was “picking” on her, but was not able to tell investigators how.
According to the interim complaint, there was significant damage to both vehicles.
