(CNN) – The man convicted of killing four University of Idaho students in 2022 wants to take back his guilty plea and go to trial, according to comments he made to The New York Times in an interview from prison.

Bryan Kohberger filed a post-conviction relief form in Idaho courts on Monday.
He blamed his plea on “false promises” and wrong information.
Kohberger was convicted last year after he pleaded guilty in open court and admitted to the murders.

He was sentenced to life without parole.
