PHOENIX (AZFamily) — One person is fighting for their life, and no suspects have been found after a shooting in a west Phoenix neighborhood Friday morning.

Around 8:45 a.m., Phoenix police were called to the shooting near 39th Avenue and Taylor Street, north of Van Buren Street. Officers found the victim shot at least once, and they were rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators believe the suspect fled the area before officers arrived. However, Phoenix police stress there is no threat to the public at this time.
Police have set up multiple strands of crime scene tape to block the area. Arizona’s Family crews witnessed debris and a pair of shoes scattered across the street.

Authorities are at the scene collecting evidence and working to determine additional details about the crime. Residents are asked to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
