PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Two people were found dead in a home in Deer Valley Saturday, Phoenix officials said.

Officers responded to a home near 35th Avenue and Deer Valley Road just after 4:30 p.m. and found a 74-year-old man and 81-year-old woman dead with gunshot wounds.
Homicide investigators responded to the scene. Officials believe this is a murder-suicide and there is no threat to the community.
Neighbors describe couple as quiet, friendly
Neighbors described the man and woman as quiet and kept to themselves, but friendly.
Fadea Hassan, a neighbor, said she had gotten the couple’s mail a few times and often saw the man sitting outside.

“He seemed very kind; he’s always saying hi to everyone and smiling,” Hassan said.
Hassan said the deaths affected how she views her own neighborhood.
“These things that you hear about in the news, it’s really not that far from you. That’s what I’m realizing. I’m like, wow, this is right next to me,” Hassan said.
The names of the two people were not released.
