FOREST LAKES, AZ (AZFamily) — A summer night in central Arizona turned deadly for a 17-year-old boy, and now investigators say two Valley men are responsible.

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that two Valley residents have been arrested in connection with a July 3 crash on Forest Service Road 330 in Forest Lakes last month.
Deputies arrested 19-year-old Carter Travis of Glendale on Aug. 28. He faces charges of second-degree homicide, three counts of aggravated assault, felony endangerment, and other DUI-related charges.
The following day, authorities arrested 25-year-old Joseph Ohlendorf of Tempe. He faces charges of manslaughter and four counts of furnishing alcohol to minors.
“Throughout the investigation, detectives conducted interviews, reviewed available evidence, obtained records, and worked with the Arizona Department of Public Safety to obtain additional vehicle data,” the sheriff’s department wrote. “The investigation ultimately identified evidence supporting criminal charges against two individuals.”

It remains unclear exactly how the 17-year-old died, what role each suspect played in the crash, and if the teen was a driver or passenger. The teen has not been publicly identified.
