PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A driver was killed early Thursday after slamming into the side of a semi-truck, wedging his car beneath its trailer in west Phoenix.

Just before 2:30 a.m., officers were called to the crash near 75th Avenue and Van Buren Street. When they arrived, they found a sedan lodged underneath the semi’s trailer.
The driver of the sedan, 32-year-old Tevin Bond, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person in the car.
Investigators believe Bond was speeding along Van Buren Street when the semi began making a left turn in front of him, and he crashed into the trailer.

The semi’s driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing.
