PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department has launched a community survey for the renaming of the Cesar Chavez Park and Community Center.

The park and community center are located at 35th Avenue and Baseline Road. On March 23, 2026, the Phoenix City Council directed the city to begin renaming municipal facilities currently named after Cesar Chavez after sexual assault allegations surfaced.

The survey is open through June 14. Phoenix residents will be allowed to vote on proposed names and suggest their own. City council says community input will shape the final renaming recommendation.

The results will be presented at the June 25 Parks and Recreation Board meeting.
