TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Sierra Vista Police Department says a man was arrested following a barricade situation that resulted from a domestic situation.

The SVPD says it happened early Saturday morning, August 29 after a 911 caller reported hearing screaming from inside an apartment.
Officers could also hear screaming when they arrived on scene.
Officers managed to get a female out safely, but the SVPD says John Lopez barricaded himself inside the apartment.
A perimeter was established and the Regional SWAT Team responded with negotiators.

Using less lethal tactics, police say Lopez was taken into custody.
He received non-life threatening injuries and was booked into the Cochise County Jail for domestic violence charges including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, kidnapping, preventing the use of 911 in an emergency, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and two failure to appear warrants.
