TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – An Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect and has been extended through 8 p.m. on Saturday. Regions under this heat alert include Pinal County, the Tohono O’odham Nation, the Tucson metro area, the Upper Gila River Valley, and Western Pima County.

While Cochise and Santa Cruz counties are not included in this warning, they will still experience above-average temperatures and a moderate heat risk. Tucson will face a moderate to major heat risk over the next few days, with extreme heat returning mid-week as daytime highs near 110 degrees and overnight lows hover in the low 80s.
We are also tracking isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms later today, with the best chances to the west and south of Tucson. Drier air is expected to move in soon, causing evening storm chances to drop heading into next week.

Tonight – A 20 percent chance of an evening shower or thunderstorm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 79.
Monday -Extreme Heat Warning. Mostly sunny, with a high near 104. 10% chance of a brief P.M. shower or storm.
