(CNN) – The Mexican Navy rescued two men who had been adrift at sea in a cooler for five days.

The fishermen were discovered Thursday in the Pacific Ocean, 150 miles from shore near the state of Chiapas in southern Mexico.

They began their trip Aug. 14 and quickly lost contact with their team on shore.
The Mexican Navy said both men were airlifted to port to be checked out by medics, but were in good enough shape to be sent home to their families right away.
