TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Pima County Sheriff’s Department released new details about a crash that killed a pedestrian late Thursday, May 7.

The crash happened near the intersection of Snyder and Sabino Canyon, which was shut down for several hours.
The PCSD says a preliminary investigation indicates 51-year-old Mikhail Stepanov was waiting to cross within the crosswalk at the intersection when he was hit by the driver of a 2023 Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Stepanov died at the hospital.
The PCSD says the driver remained on scene.
Detectives say neither speed nor impairment appear to be factors in the crash.
This investigation remains ongoing.
