TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Authorities responded to a swift-water rescue near East Sahuarita Road and South Wilmot Road in Pima County on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said the driver was rescued and was not injured.
The area west of that intersection is closed due to the flooding, and the PCSD again reminded people to stay away from running water on roadways.

There were at least three swift-water rescues in the Tucson area on Thursday, Aug. 13.
The biggest one happened at Sabino Canyon, when a young woman on a bike fell from a flooded bridge and got sucked under.The woman could have drowned if it were not for Good Samaritans running to help.

Also on Aug. 13, an off-duty DPS trooper noticed a car stuck in a flooded road near Silverbell and Streetwater Drive. Crews from the Tucson Fire Department used a ladder to rescue the victim.
Later that day, the Northwest Fire District said Engine 336 rescued three people who got trapped in a car on a flooded roadway near Sandario and Avra Valley.
