SIERRA VISTA, AZ (AZFamily) — A 15-year-old boy is recovering after falling 30 feet from a waterfall in southern Arizona on Friday evening.

First responders were called to Carr Canyon Falls, near Sierra Vista, just before 5 p.m. after reports of a medical emergency involving a teen boy. Investigators say the teen had fallen and was found face down in the water at the base of the falls.
According to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, family members who were there when the fall happened began providing medical treatment before crews arrived. Fry Fire medical personnel then took over care at the scene.
Crews used the Arizona Department of Public Safety’s “Ranger” helicopter to hoist the teen from the area and fly him to a Tucson-area hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and a separate medical issue.
