Tucson Police investigating double shooting near 22nd, Harrison

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Two people were injured in an apparent shooting near East 22nd Street and South Harrison Road in Tucson on Monday, May 18.

The Tucson Police Department said the incident happened near 22nd and Oak Park Drive.

According to the TPD Real Time Event Tracker, there were several 911 calls about suspicious activity made from the 9000 block of East Calle Diego before the shooting.

The TPD said there was a confrontation that ended with a shooting, and two people were taken to the hospital with apparent gunshot wounds.

The TPD said there is no threat to the public, but asked people to avoid the area if possible.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.

It was the third shooting in southern Arizona in three days.

  • On May 15, two people were shot in Green Valley. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said it appeared to be an accidental shooting, but the suspect ran away. The PCSD said the victims’ injuries were not life-threatening.
  • On May 18, one person was injured, and another was arrested following a shooting in downtown Tucson. The TPD said the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, but declines to release the name of the suspect.
