WADDELL, AZ (AZFamily) — A woman died after investigators said she was hit by multiple cars while trying to cross a West Valley freeway during the weekend.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, 52-year-old Valerie Theresa Chesnut of Goodyear was walking across the southbound lanes of state Route 303 south of Northern Avenue just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday, when a driver in a pickup truck in the left lane hit her.
She was then hit by two additional cars, detectives said.
The department is asking for the public’s help in finding a heavy-duty, dual-axle pickup truck towing a car-hauler trailer and possibly headed to California.
