TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A Pima County man and woman have been accused of assaulting first responders as they responded to a house fire near San Joaquin and Bopp late Sunday, Aug. 9.

Sean Michael Gueffroy and Sarah Maria Peterson appeared in court early Monday, Aug. 10, and are facing charges of aggravated assault on a first responder.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said the Drexel Heights Fire Department responded to a house fire call in the 10000 block of West Mercury Drive around 7:30 p.m.
The PCSD said Gueffroy and Peterson appeared to be agitated with the DHFD crew and were ordered to step away.
Gueffroy allegedly assaulted a fire captain and resisted arrest before assaulting two PCSD deputies. The PCSD said a juvenile was also cited for obstruction.
The state asked for a $15,000 bond for the 35-year-old Gueffroy, but the judge released him to pretrial services. The state said Gueffroy is on probation, but it is an out-of-state case.

During the hearing, the state said Gueffroy assaulted a fire captain and a deputy.
The state asked for a $7,500 bond for the 36-year-old Peterson, but the judge released her to pretrial services.
According to the DHFD, no injuries were reported.
Both have preliminary hearings set for 1:30 p.m. Aug. 31.
