TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The past few days, I’ve been mentioning Monday and Wednesday as problem areas in the forecast. Today, NWS issued a Flash Flood Watch for Monday from 2pm to 10pm in anticipation of storms, especially in the evening. That will make Monday a First Alert Weather Day. The areas under the Flood Watch are a majority of Pima County (including Tucson Metro), Western Santa Cruz County, and Southern Pinal County. Cochise, Graham, and Greenlee Counties ARE NOT in this watch. Also, Wednesday continues to bring high rain and storm chances for the Tucson Metro Area. We are currently sitting at 60% during the day and 50% at night. Because of that, I’m going ahead and also issuing a First Alert Weather Day for Wednesday due to elevated storm potential, especially for earlier in the day than normal. Rain and storm chances persist in the forecast until they decrease into next weekend.

Don’t forget, storm potential still exists for tonight too. The focus of tonight’s storms will again be our central and western areas. Storms will bring strong to severe winds, possible blowing dust, and flood potential. As for temps, still hot today but cooling down into the workweek. We still expect to see 90s for the highs in Tucson Tuesday through Friday. We’ll possibly get as low as 93 degrees! A nice cool down for us, but back to triple-digits next weekend.
