AVONDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Two people are in the hospital after a shooting caused a car to crash into an Avondale home late Friday night.

Just after 9 p.m., first responders were called to the incident in a neighborhood near Avondale Boulevard and Van Buren Street.
Avondale police and fire crews arrived and found that a man had been driving when he was shot and crashed into the home, hurting a woman inside the house.
Police say the driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The resident was taken to the hospital in stable condition, though the severity of her injuries is unknown.
Detectives believe a group of people shot the driver and left before officers arrived. Police say a nearby home was also hit by gunfire, but no one else was hurt.

The suspects have not been identified or found.
