PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A major intersection in west Phoenix is back open after a deadly pedestrian crash early Monday morning.

Shortly after 5:30 a.m., Phoenix Police responded to a crash at the intersection of 51st Avenue and Van Buren Street.
Officers arrived and found a man dead in the roadway. The driver who reportedly hit him stayed on the scene.
Authorities closed the intersection throughout the morning but reopened it several hours later.
