BONHAM, Texas (KXII/Gray News) – A Texas man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for child sex crimes.

Trevor Brown, 27, was sentenced Wednesday, the Fannin County District Attorney’s Office announced.
The investigation into Brown started when Bonham police were called to an assault report on March 19.

Investigators said that during an interview with Brown about the case, he eventually admitted to messaging the victim, who was a neighbor of his, on social media and having sexual contact with the child.
In addition to the prison sentence, Brown will have to register as a lifetime sex offender, and a lifetime protective order was issued for the child.
