PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A single-car crash is restricting a busy road in south Phoenix on Friday afternoon.

Around 4:50 p.m., Phoenix police said officers were in the area of Seventh Avenue and Broadway Road and shared an image of a red sedan to the side of the street and police tape stretching across the road.
A police spokesperson said the driver veered off the road after possibly having a medical emergency, crashing into a tree stump and fence.
The man driving the car was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area, and Seventh Avenue is expected to be restricted for a few hours.
