PAGE, AZ (AZFamily) — A child has died following a boating accident Thursday afternoon at a lake in northern Arizona.

Around noon, Coconino County sheriff’s deputies were called to Lake Powell in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. First responders were told that a child had fallen from the front of a moving boat and was struck by the same vessel.
Park rangers with the National Park Service were first to arrive and brought the child to the Antelope Point Marina while providing emergency medical care. Page Fire paramedics were waiting at the marina and provided additional care before the child was flown to Page Hospital.
The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office says the child has since died.
No details about the child’s age or gender were released. Other details about what may have led to the accident were not yet available.
